What We Do

Our Model
Working with individual donors and the community, we strive to ensure every elementary school aged student has access to nutritious, school-approved snacks. Using monetary donations and in-kind contributions, we purchase and deliver prepackaged snacks to elementary schools — starting with those where the need is greatest and continuing until all elementary schools are covered.
- Community-Driven: Funded and powered by donors and volunteers
- Data-Informed: Prioritizes schools with highest free and reduced-price meal eligibility
- Teacher-Supported: Snacks are distributed by school staff, preserving student dignity
- Sustainable: Supported through recurring donations, partnerships, and grants

Who We Serve
Our first pilot project will take place in Wake County, NC, starting with public elementary schools where the youngest students are impacted by snack insecurity. As our resources grow, we will expand to include other school districts in North Carolina and beyond.
- Students who come to school without a snack
- Teachers who want to create inclusive, hunger-free classrooms
- Families who face food insecurity but may not qualify for federal assistance

Purchasing Snacks
We are committed to providing nutritious, school-approved snacks that meet Public School System guidelines for outside food. Every snack we distribute is prepackaged and shelf-stable to ensure safety for all students. Whenever possible, we prioritize snacks that are low in sugar, free from high fructose corn syrup, and made without artificial dyes — promoting better nutrition, focus, and classroom energy. While these standards guide our purchases, we also accept donated snacks that meet school safety guidelines.
- Bulk purchase: We buy snacks in bulk from trusted wholesale retailers, ensuring cost efficiency and consistent quality
- Stigma-free distribution: Teachers and staff distribute the snacks directly to students, maintaining dignity and ensuring no child feels singled out

Service Area / Distribution Plan
In our initial phase, or pilot project, we’re focusing on public elementary schools in Wake County, NC, where younger students are most likely to depend on shared classroom snacks to get through the day. As community support grows, we plan to expand our reach to other counties in NC and beyond, ensuring even more students have access to the nourishment they need to thrive.
We use a structured, data-informed approach to make sure snacks are distributed fairly and reach the students who need them most.
- Identify Need: We utilize the latest Public School System data to identify schools with the highest number of students receiving free and reduced-price meals
- Deliver and Move Forward: Once a school has received a delivery, we continue down the list to the next identified school in need
- Confirm Participation: We contact school leadership to confirm interest and ensure they have the ability to accept and distribute snacks effectively
- Respond to Community Requests: Parents, educators, and community members can also submit requests through our website, allowing us to stay flexible and responsive as new needs arise
