Snacks for Kids Awarded Grant from Cary Women’s Giving Network
We are incredibly honored to share that Snacks for Kids has been awarded a $1,500 grant from the Cary Women’s Giving Network, an organization that transforms the collective generosity of our donors into a permanent source of community support, with a focus on the state’s rural areas.
This support is more than a financial contribution, it is an investment in the children,
teachers, and schools we serve across Wake County.
We are proud to stand alongside this year’s fellow grant recipients:
– Meals on Wheels of Wake County
– Inter-Faith Food Shuttle
– North Carolina Symphony
– Made4Me
Together, these organizations are addressing important needs throughout our community, and we are grateful to be included among such inspiring partners.

Supporting Children When It Matters Most
At Snacks for Kids, our mission is simple: provide nutritious snacks to high-need public elementary schools in Wake County so every child has the opportunity to learn, focus, and thrive.
Many elementary classrooms include a daily snack time because students may eat lunch very early – or not until late in the afternoon. For many families, sending a snack each day is manageable. For others, it’s simply one more financial burden.
When snacks aren’t available, teachers often step in, purchasing food with their own money or asking other families for donations to ensure no child goes without.
That’s where Snacks for Kids comes in.
Since launching earlier this year, we’ve already provided snacks to five Wake County elementary schools and are preparing to serve our sixth school this month. Every delivery helps relieve the burden on teachers while ensuring students have the nourishment they need to stay focused and engaged throughout the school day.
The Power of Collective Giving
The Cary Women’s Giving Network exists to strengthen the Cary community through the power of collective philanthropy, supporting organizations that address critical and emerging needs of women and children.
We are deeply grateful that our mission resonated with their members.
As Mari-Jo Hill, Grants Chair of the Cary Women’s Giving Network, shared: “Partnering in support of local nonprofits and organizations helps strengthen our Cary community for generations to come.”
We couldn’t agree more.
Thank You
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to every member of the Cary Women’s Giving Network for believing in our mission and helping us reach more students who need this support.
Thank you as well to Fit & Able Productions for capturing the grant celebration and making all of the nonprofit partners feel so welcomed.
Finally, thank you to our volunteers, donors, school partners, and community supporters. Every snack delivered is possible because of people who believe that no child should have to learn on an empty stomach.
